Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.72% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 3.52% or 22.20 points to trade at 652.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 3.48% or 8.30 points to end at 246.50 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 3.12% or 0.81 points to 26.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW), which fell 1.64% or 1.28 points to trade at 76.60 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.41% or 2.00 points to end at 139.80 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) was down 1.35% or 3.40 points to 248.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which rose 8.61% to 54.85, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was up 7.85% to settle at 9.28 and Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which gained 5.08% to close at 9.72.
The worst performers were Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was down 2.87% to 135.60 in late trade, Klepierre SA (EPA:LOIM) which lost 2.77% to settle at 28.08 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 2.08% to 84.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 313 to 204 and 72 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.13% or 30.15 to $2,689.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.90% or 1.28 to hit $68.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 1.18 to trade at $72.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 105.66.
