France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.69%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.69%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.67%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 5.69% or 3.30 points to trade at 61.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) added 2.42% or 4.75 points to end at 201.20 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 1.97% or 1.14 points to 59.12 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM), which fell 3.24% or 1.48 points to trade at 44.23 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.09% or 0.63 points to end at 57.17 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was down 0.77% or 0.09 points to 11.30.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which rose 7.02% to 19.30, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 6.15% to settle at 14.23 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which gained 5.69% to close at 61.30.

The worst performers were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) which was down 3.24% to 44.23 in late trade, JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which lost 2.58% to settle at 21.94 and Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which was down 2.39% to 15.53 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 279 to 265 and 81 ended unchanged.

Shares in Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) rose to all time highs; rising 7.02% or 1.26 to 19.30.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.29% or 5.35 to $1,840.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.32% or 0.25 to hit $77.94 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.14 to trade at $84.45 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 105.11.
