Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.65%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 2.96% or 0.36 points to trade at 12.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.77% or 3.00 points to end at 111.15 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 2.33% or 0.35 points to 15.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which fell 0.78% or 0.39 points to trade at 49.85 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 0.74% or 0.16 points to end at 20.73 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 0.57% or 0.80 points to 138.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which rose 3.94% to 29.26, Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which was up 3.35% to settle at 24.70 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 3.18% to close at 5.52.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 6.58% to 0.89 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 4.74% to settle at 6.28 and Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was down 3.82% to 64.15 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 295 to 200 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; down 6.58% or 0.06 to 0.89. Shares in Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.82% or 2.55 to 64.15.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.39% or 7.80 to $1,986.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $81.05 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.27 to trade at $85.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 106.84.
