Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.57% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE), which rose 2.74% or 0.87 points to trade at 32.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.58% or 0.20 points to end at 13.12 and Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) was up 1.08% or 0.17 points to 15.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 0.47% or 0.29 points to trade at 60.88 at the close. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 0.41% or 0.12 points to end at 30.05 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) was down 0.18% or 0.20 points to 110.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) which rose 2.74% to 32.58, Ovh Groupe SAS (PA:OVH) which was up 2.62% to settle at 24.32 and CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which gained 2.27% to close at 0.666.
The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 2.58% to 25.700 in late trade, Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which lost 2.09% to settle at 70.20 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 1.47% to 6.71 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 346 to 231 and 102 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.11% or 2.05 to $1810.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.39 to hit $75.96 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.56% or 0.44 to trade at $78.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1309, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8417.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 96.140.
