Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.52%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 3.94% or 1.35 points to trade at 35.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.23% or 3.50 points to end at 160.20 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) was up 1.89% or 2.02 points to 108.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 1.73% or 0.48 points to trade at 27.19 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) declined 1.12% or 1.50 points to end at 131.85 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was down 0.70% or 0.29 points to 40.88.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which rose 21.02% to 8.03, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 17.79% to settle at 2.09 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which gained 5.24% to close at 4.94.
The worst performers were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which was down 1.73% to 27.19 in late trade, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which lost 1.59% to settle at 92.75 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 1.38% to 15.78 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 279 to 235 and 111 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.51% or 9.95 to $1,968.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.12 to trade at $74.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.63% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 102.25.
