Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.52%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which rose 1.86% or 1.95 points to trade at 106.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 1.74% or 0.31 points to end at 17.79 and Schneider Electric SE (PA:SCHN) was up 1.57% or 1.16 points to 74.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which fell 3.75% or 0.91 points to trade at 23.38 at the close. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) declined 1.04% or 0.68 points to end at 65.02 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) was down 0.81% or 0.41 points to 49.97.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Neopost (PA:NPOS) which rose 5.14% to 25.76, Eramet (PA:ERMT) which was up 3.76% to settle at 115.90 and ICADE (PA:ICAD) which gained 2.88% to close at 83.95.
The worst performers were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) which was down 3.75% to 23.38 in late trade, Fonciere des Regions (PA:FDR) which lost 2.23% to settle at 87.70 and Bollore SA (PA:BOLL) which was down 1.96% to 4.594 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 351 to 242 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eramet (PA:ERMT) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 3.76% or 4.20 to 115.90. Shares in ICADE (PA:ICAD) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.88% or 2.35 to 83.95.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.47% to 9.59.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.70% or 9.20 to $1331.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.44% or 0.28 to hit $64.08 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.21 to trade at $69.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.2133, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 91.06.
