Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.51% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 2.97% or 2.46 points to trade at 85.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 2.59% or 1.25 points to end at 49.45 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 2.04% or 4.40 points to 220.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which fell 2.84% or 1.34 points to trade at 45.81 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 1.55% or 0.49 points to end at 31.04 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was down 1.26% or 2.00 points to 156.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which rose 3.37% to 12.89, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was up 3.35% to settle at 5.12 and Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which gained 3.35% to close at 173.00.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 5.96% to 2.12 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which lost 5.78% to settle at 7.24 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 4.76% to 0.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 246 to 242 and 88 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.44% or 11.89 to $2,684.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.06% or 0.78 to hit $74.10 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.17% or 0.89 to trade at $77.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 108.99.
