Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.47% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 6.32% or 0.60 points to trade at 10.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 2.12% or 0.47 points to end at 22.40 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 2.10% or 1.22 points to 59.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 1.32% or 2.80 points to trade at 208.70 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 1.07% or 1.10 points to end at 101.38 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (EPA:URW) was down 0.83% or 0.42 points to 50.04.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 9.29% to 3.34, Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) which was up 6.32% to settle at 10.07 and Bollore SA (EPA:BOLL) which gained 5.27% to close at 6.09.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 5.84% to 2.32 in late trade, SES (EPA:SESFd) which lost 5.55% to settle at 5.45 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 4.63% to 4.86 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 297 to 268 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bollore SA (EPA:BOLL) rose to all time highs; rising 5.27% or 0.31 to 6.09.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.64% or 12.75 to $2,019.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.52% or 0.42 to hit $81.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.48% or 0.41 to trade at $85.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 101.45.
