Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.45%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 1.48% or 2.00 points to trade at 136.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 1.12% or 0.60 points to end at 54.28 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 0.87% or 0.22 points to 25.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which fell 1.29% or 0.19 points to trade at 14.90 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 1.26% or 0.43 points to end at 33.75 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 0.69% or 1.00 points to 144.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which rose 4.98% to 96.00, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 3.48% to settle at 1.90 and SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which gained 3.44% to close at 120.20.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 3.70% to 3.02 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 2.34% to settle at 14.18 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) which was down 1.29% to 14.90 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 268 to 255 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) fell to all time lows; losing 3.70% or 0.12 to 3.02.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.06% or 1.25 to $1,931.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.91% or 0.67 to hit $73.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.69 to trade at $77.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 101.74.
