Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.44% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 4.49% or 4.75 points to trade at 110.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 4.49% or 11.10 points to end at 258.30 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 3.22% or 0.74 points to 23.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF), which fell 1.54% or 1.60 points to trade at 102.35 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 1.14% or 0.28 points to end at 24.30 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was down 0.88% or 0.24 points to 26.94.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which rose 7.52% to 10.26, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was up 7.02% to settle at 11.89 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 6.07% to close at 57.65.
The worst performers were Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which was down 4.22% to 26.36 in late trade, ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which lost 1.89% to settle at 21.76 and Eiffage SA (EPA:FOUG) which was down 1.65% to 84.68 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 241 to 232 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.22% or 1.16 to 26.36.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.51% or 14.09 to $2,779.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.50% or 0.37 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.11 to trade at $78.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.95% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 107.08.
