Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.43%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 3.24% or 2.32 points to trade at 73.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 2.20% or 0.71 points to end at 32.99 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.59% or 0.57 points to 36.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 1.52% or 2.30 points to trade at 148.65 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 1.08% or 0.57 points to end at 52.00 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 1.05% or 0.46 points to 43.08.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES Imagotag (EPA:SESL) which rose 19.48% to 96.30, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 4.73% to settle at 2.22 and ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which gained 3.85% to close at 270.00.

The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was down 6.27% to 212.10 in late trade, Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which lost 5.22% to settle at 127.00 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 5.03% to 61.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 274 to 250 and 99 ended unchanged.

Shares in Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.27% or 14.20 to 212.10.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.50% or 9.75 to $1,924.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.00% or 1.39 to hit $67.98 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.00% or 1.49 to trade at $72.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 102.14.
