Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.33% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 3.10% or 1.35 points to trade at 44.92 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 2.89% or 1.46 points to end at 52.00 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was up 2.77% or 0.68 points to 25.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which fell 3.33% or 2.92 points to trade at 84.75 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 2.59% or 0.71 points to end at 26.86 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was down 0.59% or 1.15 points to 194.45.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which rose 4.95% to 15.06, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was up 3.94% to settle at 13.45 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 3.73% to close at 12.52.
The worst performers were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) which was down 3.33% to 84.75 in late trade, Euronext (EPA:ENX) which lost 3.26% to settle at 79.64 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 2.78% to 3.21 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 296 to 242 and 100 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 9.30 to $1,804.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.76% or 2.54 to hit $94.47 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.37% or 2.31 to trade at $99.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 104.88.
