Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.28%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 2.18% or 2.95 points to trade at 138.35 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 1.99% or 1.12 points to end at 57.27 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 1.78% or 2.72 points to 155.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which fell 1.93% or 8.20 points to trade at 415.75 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 1.37% or 0.33 points to end at 23.75 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 0.96% or 0.10 points to 10.37.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which rose 5.26% to 6.00, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was up 3.93% to settle at 0.43 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which gained 3.09% to close at 20.68.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.83% to 1.77 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 5.74% to settle at 2.25 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 5.20% to 3.79 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 289 to 248 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.78% or 2.72 to 155.36. Shares in Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) fell to all time lows; falling 5.20% or 0.21 to 3.79.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.41% or 29.65 to $2,125.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.14% or 0.91 to hit $79.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.68% or 0.57 to trade at $82.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 103.76.
