Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.25% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 6.25% or 3.06 points to trade at 52.02 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) added 1.90% or 6.60 points to end at 353.60 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.54% or 0.76 points to 50.26 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which fell 1.93% or 0.72 points to trade at 36.59 at the close. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 1.81% or 0.19 points to end at 10.12 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was down 1.61% or 0.71 points to 43.81.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gecina SA (EPA:GFCP) which rose 6.75% to 98.80, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was up 6.25% to settle at 52.02 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which gained 5.05% to close at 40.98.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 2.62% to 9.82 in late trade, Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which lost 2.33% to settle at 10.04 and Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which was down 2.27% to 47.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 271 to 263 and 100 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.82% or 14.05 to $1,727.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.12% or 0.12 to hit $96.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.76 to trade at $104.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 106.27.
