Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN), which rose 4.96% or 1.09 points to trade at 22.95 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (PA:AXAF) added 2.85% or 0.74 points to end at 26.50 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was up 2.54% or 3.05 points to 123.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 3.37% or 1.41 points to trade at 40.55 at the close. Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) declined 3.21% or 41.50 points to end at 1,252.50 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was down 2.90% or 16.00 points to 535.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Dassault Aviation SA (PA:AM) which rose 6.03% to 154.80, Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which was up 5.66% to settle at 136.20 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) which gained 4.96% to close at 22.95.
The worst performers were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which was down 3.93% to 359.00 in late trade, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) which lost 3.37% to settle at 40.55 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) which was down 3.21% to 1,252.50 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 298 to 253 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thales (PA:TCFP) rose to all time highs; rising 2.54% or 3.05 to 123.00. Shares in Dassault Aviation SA (PA:AM) rose to 3-years highs; rising 6.03% or 8.80 to 154.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.14% or 2.70 to $1,942.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 4.27% or 4.20 to hit $94.06 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 4.54% or 4.67 to trade at $98.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 100.01.
