Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.11%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 4.11% or 2.18 points to trade at 55.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 3.55% or 4.36 points to end at 127.30 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.25% or 0.46 points to 36.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which fell 2.67% or 0.34 points to trade at 12.41 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 1.49% or 0.62 points to end at 40.66 and Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) was down 1.32% or 0.31 points to 23.23.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which rose 4.11% to 55.22, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was up 3.93% to settle at 1.23 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) which gained 3.55% to close at 127.30.
The worst performers were Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 4.98% to 22.50 in late trade, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which lost 4.41% to settle at 27.72 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 4.14% to 146.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 265 to 226 and 118 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.67% or 0.34 to 12.41.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 2.65 to $1,936.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.20% or 0.17 to hit $85.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.14 to trade at $89.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 105.95.
