Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.09% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index added 2.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 1.63% or 2.20 points to trade at 137.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Danone SA (EPA:DANO) added 1.55% or 0.95 points to end at 62.24 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 1.31% or 2.36 points to 182.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which fell 3.38% or 1.19 points to trade at 34.02 at the close. Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) declined 1.59% or 0.21 points to end at 13.25 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) was down 1.58% or 0.26 points to 15.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which rose 3.23% to 147.00, SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which was up 2.23% to settle at 110.20 and Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which gained 2.05% to close at 129.70.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 14.47% to 3.51 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which lost 3.84% to settle at 97.36 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which was down 3.84% to 5.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 266 to 252 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Danone SA (EPA:DANO) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.55% or 0.95 to 62.24. Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to all time lows; falling 14.47% or 0.59 to 3.51.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.44% or 8.95 to $2,045.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.08% or 0.84 to hit $77.17 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.95% or 0.79 to trade at $82.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 103.52.
