France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.08%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.26%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR), which rose 3.86% or 5.72 points to trade at 153.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 1.51% or 1.06 points to end at 71.29 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 1.39% or 0.17 points to 12.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 14.14% or 18.85 points to trade at 114.45 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 3.17% or 1.37 points to end at 41.69 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was down 2.95% or 1.39 points to 45.66.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Coface (EPA:COFA) which rose 5.95% to 13.71, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was up 5.43% to settle at 52.40 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 4.06% to close at 2.41.

The worst performers were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 14.14% to 114.45 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which lost 10.17% to settle at 11.00 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 9.84% to 2.29 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 346 to 181 and 81 ended unchanged.

Shares in Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) rose to all time highs; rising 3.86% or 5.72 to 153.72. Shares in Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.51% or 1.06 to 71.29. Shares in Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.95% or 1.39 to 45.66.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.65 to $2,043.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.70% or 0.55 to hit $78.32 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.83% or 0.69 to trade at $81.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.81.
