Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 2.74% or 3.15 points to trade at 118.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 1.74% or 0.96 points to end at 56.10 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 1.61% or 0.41 points to 25.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 1.74% or 1.01 points to trade at 56.97 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 1.59% or 0.60 points to end at 37.26 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 1.12% or 1.98 points to 174.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Covivio SA (EPA:CVO) which rose 3.14% to 42.10, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 2.74% to settle at 118.30 and Altarea SCA (EPA:IMAF) which gained 2.72% to close at 87.00.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 4.26% to 1.73 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 2.79% to settle at 0.73 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 2.51% to 20.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 258 to 253 and 106 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.20% or 23.05 to $1,949.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.80% or 0.64 to hit $79.00 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.74 to trade at $83.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 103.28.
