Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.06%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which rose 1.71% or 15.00 points to trade at 892.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 1.60% or 31.40 points to end at 1,996.20 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 0.84% or 3.50 points to 421.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 2.58% or 1.36 points to trade at 51.28 at the close. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) declined 1.22% or 0.32 points to end at 26.34 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was down 1.21% or 1.68 points to 137.06.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which rose 2.43% to 15.60, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 1.85% to settle at 11.58 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) which gained 1.71% to close at 892.30.
The worst performers were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) which was down 3.18% to 102.05 in late trade, SES (EPA:SESFd) which lost 2.90% to settle at 5.51 and Rexel (EPA:RXL) which was down 2.82% to 22.36 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 250 to 237 and 118 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.45 to $1,963.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.89% or 1.45 to hit $75.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.44 to trade at $79.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 99.54.
