Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.03%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which rose 3.45% or 0.57 points to trade at 17.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) added 1.46% or 1.60 points to end at 111.50 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was up 1.21% or 0.94 points to 78.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Essilor International Compagnie Generale d’Optique SA (PA:ESSI), which fell 1.57% or 1.65 points to trade at 103.25 at the close. Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) declined 0.86% or 0.85 points to end at 97.78 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 0.82% or 0.38 points to 45.26.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) which rose 3.45% to 17.08, Vicat (PA:VCTP) which was up 2.79% to settle at 63.00 and Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which gained 1.76% to close at 49.99.
The worst performers were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was down 4.77% to 25.160 in late trade, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which lost 2.58% to settle at 70.970 and Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was down 2.19% to 22.11 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 307 to 301 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) rose to all time highs; rising 1.21% or 0.94 to 78.78.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.18% to 11.96.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 6.83 to $1304.67 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.57% or 0.30 to hit $51.92 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.18% or 0.69 to trade at $57.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1791, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 92.85.
