Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.01% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 2.89% or 1.66 points to trade at 59.08 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 2.33% or 0.56 points to end at 24.81 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 1.84% or 1.19 points to 65.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 1.34% or 0.22 points to trade at 15.88 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 1.33% or 0.36 points to end at 26.33 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 1.26% or 0.51 points to 39.92.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which rose 11.06% to 142.60, Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which was up 9.99% to settle at 163.00 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which gained 6.81% to close at 1.90.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 20.58% to 95.90 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 9.30% to settle at 10.14 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 2.96% to 6.56 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.84% or 1.19 to 65.86. Shares in Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) fell to 3-years lows; falling 20.58% or 24.85 to 95.90. Shares in Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 9.99% or 14.80 to 163.00. Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to all time lows; down 9.30% or 1.04 to 10.14.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.90% or 42.10 to $2,254.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.16% or 1.76 to hit $83.11 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $86.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 104.27.
