Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Beverages, Foods & Drugs and Automobiles & Parts sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 3.59%, while the SBF 120 index gained 3.35%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard (PARIS:PERP), which rose 5.26% or 4.75 points to trade at 95.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Valeo (PARIS:VLOF) added 5.17% or 5.20 points to end at 105.80 and Carrefour (PARIS:CARR) was up 4.55% or 1.07 points to 24.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDF (PARIS:EDF), which rose 1.33% or 0.28 points to trade at 21.66 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PARIS:PUBP) added 1.51% or 0.88 points to end at 59.20 and Alstom (PARIS:ALSO) was up 1.81% or 0.48 points to 27.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which rose 12.44% to 0.669, Pernod Ricard (PARIS:PERP) which was up 5.26% to settle at 95.07 and Valeo (PARIS:VLOF) which gained 5.17% to close at 105.80.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (PARIS:AIRF) which was down 3.18% to 7.482 in late trade, AB Science (PARIS:ABS) which lost 1.47% to settle at 12.760 and Maurel Et Prom (PARIS:MAUP) which was down 1.15% to 7.13 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 657 to 227 and 66 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 6.24% to 24.30.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.17% or 2.10 to $1212.80 a troy ounce.
Elsewhere in commodities trading, crude oil for delivery in February unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.65 a barrel, while the February brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.18 to trade at $50.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1814, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7816.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 92.36.
