Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Clean Technology and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/TSX Composite were Bombardier Inc (TO:BBDb), which rose 9.73% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Chemtrade Logistics Income Fund (TO:CHE_u) added 6.76% or 0.78 points to end at 12.32 and Stars Group Inc (TO:TSGI) was up 3.18% or 0.77 points to 25.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NexGen Energy Ltd. (TO:NXE), which fell 4.01% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.870 at the close. MAG Silver Corp (TO:MAG) declined 3.87% or 0.38 points to end at 9.43 and CES Energy Solutions Corp (TO:CEU) was down 3.41% or 0.110 points to 3.120.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 578 to 464 and 111 ended unchanged.
The S&P/TSX 60 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 8.13% to 16.94.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1227.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.41% or 0.77 to hit $53.86 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.48% or 0.94 to trade at $62.54 a barrel.
CAD/USD was up 0.32% to 0.7582, while CAD/EUR rose 0.12% to 0.6646.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 96.400.
