Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.82% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which rose 6.01% or 0.23 points to trade at 4.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 3.53% or 1.910 points to end at 56.050 and Lojas Americanas SA (SA:LAME4) was up 3.28% or 0.51 points to 16.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vale SA (SA:VALE3), which fell 5.10% or 0.76 points to trade at 14.13 at the close. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (SA:MRVE3) declined 4.46% or 0.50 points to end at 10.71 and Vale SA (SA:VALE5) was down 3.80% or 0.45 points to 11.40.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 143 to 133 and 24 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.01% to 41.89.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1253.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.49 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.29% or 0.36 to trade at $124.83 .
USD/BRL was down 0.05% to 3.5627, while EUR/BRL rose 0.05% to 3.9944.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.32.
