Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Ultrapar Participacoes SA (SA:UGPA3), which rose 0.54% or 0.20 points to trade at 37.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 74.90 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) was down 0.09% or 0.04 points to 47.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4), which fell 6.40% or 0.73 points to trade at 10.68 at the close. B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) declined 4.50% or 1.30 points to end at 27.60 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was down 4.05% or 0.44 points to 10.43.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 294 to 161 and 44 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 6.14% to 48.55.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 1.90 to $1203.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.08% or 1.47 to hit $72.25 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.80% or 1.80 to trade at $97.95 .
USD/BRL was up 0.98% to 4.0903, while EUR/BRL rose 0.99% to 4.8061.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.83.
