Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 1.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which rose 2.74% or 1.49 points to trade at 55.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) added 2.73% or 0.66 points to end at 24.87 and CPFL Energia SA (SA:CPFE3) was up 2.61% or 0.57 points to 22.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which fell 3.51% or 0.37 points to trade at 10.17 at the close. Gerdau SA Pref (SA:GGBR4) declined 3.50% or 0.51 points to end at 14.06 and Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3) was down 3.33% or 1.21 points to 35.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 187 to 186 and 40 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 6.07% to 34.21.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.96% or 12.80 to $1316.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.56% or 1.62 to hit $61.77 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.20% or 0.25 to trade at $123.22 .
USD/BRL was up 1.14% to 3.2715, while EUR/BRL rose 0.18% to 4.0118.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.77% at 90.21.
