Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3), which rose 6.85% or 0.74 points to trade at 11.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Ez Tec SA (BVMF:EZTC3) added 5.75% or 0.75 points to end at 13.80 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) was up 5.55% or 0.47 points to 8.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3), which fell 6.71% or 2.82 points to trade at 39.20 at the close. WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) declined 5.49% or 2.90 points to end at 49.94 and Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) was down 4.30% or 0.74 points to 16.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 565 to 384 and 61 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.38% to 25.77.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.95 to $2,479.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.91% or 2.22 to hit $74.09 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 1.21% or 2.75 to trade at $230.00 .
USD/BRL was down 0.45% to 5.72, while EUR/BRL rose 0.67% to 6.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.14% at 103.01.
