Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which rose 1.22% or 0.08 points to trade at 6.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) added 1.15% or 0.38 points to end at 33.38 and Ambev SA (SA:ABEV3) was up 1.09% or 0.18 points to 16.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magazine Luiza SA (SA:MGLU3), which fell 8.36% or 14.46 points to trade at 158.50 at the close. Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) declined 5.54% or 0.68 points to end at 11.60 and EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) was down 4.07% or 0.39 points to 9.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 233 to 215 and 35 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.02% to 39.97.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1228.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.43% or 0.90 to hit $62.20 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.07% or 3.60 to trade at $113.50 .
USD/BRL was up 0.94% to 3.7612, while EUR/BRL rose 1.02% to 4.2943.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 96.09.
