Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which rose 4.23% or 1.83 points to trade at 45.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 2.85% or 1.94 points to end at 69.89 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 2.19% or 0.31 points to 14.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which fell 5.02% or 0.40 points to trade at 7.57 at the close. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) declined 4.44% or 0.35 points to end at 7.53 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) was down 4.34% or 0.98 points to 21.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 208 to 207 and 36 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.34% to 32.70.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.06% or 13.30 to $1242.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.64% or 3.44 to hit $70.67 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 2.18% or 2.50 to trade at $112.03 .
USD/BRL was up 1.59% to 3.8761, while EUR/BRL rose 1.01% to 4.5266.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.67% at 94.48.
