Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were WEG SA (SA:WEGE3), which rose 2.72% or 0.49 points to trade at 18.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) added 2.11% or 1.04 points to end at 50.27 and Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) was up 0.97% or 0.21 points to 21.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which fell 3.88% or 0.24 points to trade at 5.95 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) declined 4.02% or 3.23 points to end at 77.11 and CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) was down 3.14% or 0.30 points to 9.26.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 251 to 216 and 34 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.56% to 46.13 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.74% or 9.00 to $1207.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.61 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.32% or 2.45 to trade at $103.17 .
USD/BRL was up 1.45% to 4.1382, while EUR/BRL rose 1.58% to 4.8387.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 94.64.
