Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (BVMF:BRAP4), which rose 3.92% or 0.77 points to trade at 20.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (BVMF:VALE3) added 3.83% or 2.35 points to end at 63.77 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) was up 3.69% or 0.44 points to 12.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3), which fell 10.77% or 0.63 points to trade at 5.22 at the close. Totvs SA (BVMF:TOTS3) declined 7.82% or 2.66 points to end at 31.34 and Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) was down 7.21% or 0.16 points to 2.06.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 554 to 398 and 37 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 15.72% to 31.52.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.46% or 38.95 to $2,715.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.66% or 0.47 to hit $72.16 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 4.00% or 9.95 to trade at $258.70 .
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.07% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL rose 0.60% to 6.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 104.22.
