Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3), which rose 3.81% or 0.12 points to trade at 3.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3) added 3.37% or 0.61 points to end at 18.71 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 2.74% or 0.13 points to 4.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:MRVE3), which fell 5.40% or 0.42 points to trade at 7.36 at the close. Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) declined 4.48% or 0.26 points to end at 5.54 and Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:GOAU4) was down 3.77% or 0.41 points to 10.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 575 to 345 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.48% or 0.26 to 5.54.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 14.47% to 35.53 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.25% or 33.10 to $2,672.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.13% or 0.10 to hit $75.75 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.89% or 2.27 to trade at $252.48 .
USD/BRL was up 0.44% to 5.61, while EUR/BRL rose 0.43% to 6.14.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 102.71.
