Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF:GGBR4), which rose 9.56% or 1.74 points to trade at 19.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF:GOAU4) added 8.86% or 0.92 points to end at 11.30 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 6.26% or 0.34 points to 5.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3), which fell 3.63% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.44 at the close. B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (BVMF:B3SA3) declined 3.01% or 0.33 points to end at 10.64 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) was down 2.85% or 0.35 points to 11.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 477 to 471 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) rose to 52-week highs; up 6.26% or 0.34 to 5.77.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.57% to 37.40 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.85% or 78.35 to $2,671.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.33% or 0.82 to trade at $249.33 .
USD/BRL was down 1.28% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL fell 2.99% to 6.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.61% at 104.99.
