Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Financials and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Lwsa SA (BVMF:LWSA3), which rose 4.63% or 0.20 points to trade at 4.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:LREN3) added 2.41% or 0.31 points to end at 13.18 and Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF:GGBR4) was up 2.06% or 0.37 points to 18.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3), which fell 3.23% or 0.31 points to trade at 9.28 at the close. Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) declined 3.22% or 0.29 points to end at 8.72 and Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3) was down 2.78% or 0.59 points to 20.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 509 to 445 and 57 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.55% to 24.96.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.26% or 54.55 to $2,361.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.75% or 0.58 to hit $78.17 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.65% or 1.50 to trade at $232.65 .
USD/BRL was down 0.13% to 5.65, while EUR/BRL fell 0.09% to 6.13.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 104.15.
