Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 3.50% or 1.00 points to trade at 29.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) added 3.29% or 0.69 points to end at 21.64 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) was up 1.89% or 0.21 points to 11.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11), which fell 3.50% or 0.67 points to trade at 18.46 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 3.05% or 0.56 points to end at 17.80 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 2.99% or 1.20 points to 38.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 213 to 165 and 36 ended unchanged.
Shares in RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.89% or 0.21 to 11.35.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.86% to 31.11.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.01% or 13.29 to $1298.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.11% or 0.06 to hit $52.16 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.34% or 0.45 to trade at $132.27 .
USD/BRL was up 0.20% to 3.1652, while EUR/BRL fell 0.31% to 3.7310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 92.84.
