Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Lojas Renner SA (SA:LREN3), which rose 5.43% or 1.75 points to trade at 34.00 at the close. Meanwhile, CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) added 3.14% or 0.24 points to end at 7.89 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was up 3.68% or 0.39 points to 10.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which fell 3.22% or 0.58 points to trade at 17.41 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) declined 3.17% or 2.07 points to end at 63.31 and Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11) was down 2.38% or 0.65 points to 26.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 209 to 185 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.22% or 0.58 to 17.41. Shares in Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.17% or 2.07 to 63.31.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.95% to 27.96.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.21% or 2.80 to $1315.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.93% or 1.32 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.05% or 1.31 to trade at $122.97 .
USD/BRL was down 0.08% to 3.5247, while EUR/BRL fell 0.36% to 4.2144.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 92.44.
