Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Electric Power, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 5.34% or 0.45 points to trade at 8.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) added 3.80% or 0.65 points to end at 17.75 and Multiplan SA (SA:MULT3) was up 3.37% or 2.41 points to 73.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which fell 3.00% or 0.90 points to trade at 29.15 at the close. Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4) declined 2.83% or 2.13 points to end at 73.17 and CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4) was down 2.05% or 0.18 points to 8.59.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 197 to 167 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.80% or 0.65 to 17.75.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.14% to 25.08.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.30% or 3.88 to $1295.88 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.78% or 0.37 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.66% or 3.40 to trade at $131.32 .
USD/BRL was up 0.23% to 3.1549, while EUR/BRL rose 1.33% to 3.7637.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.87% at 92.42.
