Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 3.23%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which rose 9.92% or 0.98 points to trade at 10.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) added 9.76% or 0.77 points to end at 8.66 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) was up 7.10% or 1.68 points to 25.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5), which fell 0.16% or 0.03 points to trade at 18.65 at the close. TAESA UNT N2 (SA:TAEE11) added 0.04% or 0.01 points to end at 22.35 and CPFL Energia SA (SA:CPFE3) was up 0.26% or 0.07 points to 27.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 285 to 112 and 28 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 8.77% to 28.07.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.51 to $1274.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $50.30 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.01% or 1.28 to trade at $125.67 .
USD/BRL was down 0.26% to 3.1459, while EUR/BRL fell 0.13% to 3.6954.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.40.
