Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 2.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3), which rose 10.45% or 0.23 points to trade at 2.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) added 9.44% or 0.42 points to end at 4.87 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3) was up 8.37% or 0.71 points to 9.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3), which fell 1.76% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.22 at the close. Klabin Unt (BVMF:KLBN11) declined 0.51% or 0.11 points to end at 21.58 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) was up 0.06% or 0.02 points to 34.97.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 702 to 251 and 50 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.71% to 27.79 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.39% or 37.34 to $2,719.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 3.52% or 2.69 to hit $79.06 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 2.72% or 8.75 to trade at $330.70 .
USD/BRL was down 0.78% to 6.01, while EUR/BRL fell 0.92% to 6.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 108.97.
