Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 2.38%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which rose 10.09% or 2.95 points to trade at 32.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA:SMLS3) added 6.18% or 4.45 points to end at 76.50 and MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (SA:MRVE3) was up 5.64% or 0.72 points to 13.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which fell 0.81% or 0.06 points to trade at 7.35 at the close. Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5) declined 0.67% or 0.31 points to end at 46.26 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) was up 0.07% or 0.01 points to 15.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 259 to 138 and 22 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.07% to 33.13.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 0.87 to $1278.57 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.31% or 0.17 to hit $55.16 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.14% or 0.18 to trade at $126.65 .
USD/BRL was down 1.17% to 3.2744, while EUR/BRL fell 1.42% to 3.8515.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.88.
