Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 2.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3), which rose 6.35% or 1.68 points to trade at 28.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) added 6.16% or 0.60 points to end at 10.34 and B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) was up 5.76% or 1.51 points to 27.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (SA:BBSE3), which fell 0.79% or 0.20 points to trade at 25.17 at the close. Ambev SA (SA:ABEV3) declined 0.42% or 0.08 points to end at 18.90 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 0.31% or 0.02 points to 6.46.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 268 to 138 and 40 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.88% to 40.08.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.80 to $1202.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.10% or 2.04 to hit $67.88 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.83% or 0.85 to trade at $101.03 .
USD/BRL was up 0.18% to 4.0558, while EUR/BRL rose 0.40% to 4.7014.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.98.
