Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Financials and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.90%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4), which rose 7.17% or 1.09 points to trade at 16.29 at the close. Meanwhile, Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 6.65% or 4.20 points to end at 67.40 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) was up 5.95% or 1.62 points to 28.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia de Saneamento Basico do Estado (SA:SBSP3), which fell 6.08% or 1.99 points to trade at 30.73 at the close. Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) declined 3.67% or 1.37 points to end at 35.98 and Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) was down 2.64% or 0.61 points to 22.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 219 to 200 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) rose to 5-year highs; up 5.95% or 1.62 to 28.84.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.71% to 26.61.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.63% or 8.30 to $1321.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.35% or 0.25 to hit $71.39 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 0.72% or 0.86 to trade at $119.58 .
USD/BRL was down 1.15% to 3.5504, while EUR/BRL fell 0.56% to 4.2320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 92.56.
