Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3), which rose 10.02% or 2.48 points to trade at 27.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (SA:PETR4) added 8.16% or 1.87 points to end at 24.78 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 6.66% or 0.51 points to 8.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (SA:GOLL4), which fell 9.25% or 1.56 points to trade at 15.30 at the close. Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3) declined 6.18% or 0.98 points to end at 14.87 and Smiles Fidelidade SA (SA:SMLS3) was down 4.57% or 3.15 points to 65.81.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 229 to 201 and 34 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.88% to 28.22.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1312.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.13% or 2.16 to hit $71.22 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.79% or 0.95 to trade at $118.72 .
USD/BRL was up 0.84% to 3.5937, while EUR/BRL rose 0.78% to 4.2592.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 92.95.
