Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3), which rose 6.99% or 1.45 points to trade at 22.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) added 6.33% or 1.75 points to end at 29.40 and BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) was up 6.11% or 1.53 points to 26.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3), which fell 3.65% or 0.87 points to trade at 22.98 at the close. Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) declined 1.87% or 0.51 points to end at 26.81 and Equatorial Energia SA (SA:EQTL3) was down 1.78% or 1.30 points to 71.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 293 to 127 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.33% or 1.75 to 29.40.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 9.56% to 28.38.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.17% or 2.20 to $1323.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.28% or 1.97 to hit $62.09 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.04% or 0.05 to trade at $120.33 .
USD/BRL was down 0.33% to 3.2562, while EUR/BRL fell 0.38% to 4.0065.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 90.09.
