Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.47% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11), which rose 4.86% or 0.90 points to trade at 19.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) added 4.43% or 0.46 points to end at 10.85 and BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) was up 4.39% or 0.64 points to 15.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie Brasil Energia SA (SA:EGIE3), which fell 2.12% or 0.79 points to trade at 36.56 at the close. Equatorial Energia SA (SA:EQTL3) declined 1.01% or 0.65 points to end at 63.63 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA (SA:PETR3) was down 0.45% or 0.07 points to 15.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 319 to 116 and 30 ended unchanged.
Shares in Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.86% or 0.90 to 19.40. Shares in BR Malls Participacoes SA (SA:BRML3) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.39% or 0.64 to 15.23.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.99% to 28.88.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 4.01 to $1325.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.53% or 3.48 to trade at $141.30 .
USD/BRL was down 0.37% to 3.1093, while EUR/BRL fell 0.12% to 3.7151.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 91.81.
