Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.42% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 7.40% or 1.82 points to trade at 26.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Bradesco SA (SA:BBDC3) added 4.80% or 1.26 points to end at 27.50 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 5.63% or 0.92 points to 17.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which fell 5.21% or 2.19 points to trade at 39.81 at the close. Tim Participacoes SA (SA:TIMP3) declined 3.31% or 0.45 points to end at 13.15 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was down 2.26% or 1.66 points to 71.64.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 275 to 164 and 24 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.24% to 32.23.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.57% or 7.00 to $1231.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.18% or 0.12 to hit $68.12 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.20% or 2.39 to trade at $110.97 .
USD/BRL was down 1.44% to 3.7764, while EUR/BRL fell 0.72% to 4.4264.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.80% at 94.22.
