Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (SA:MRVE3), which rose 5.43% or 0.73 points to trade at 14.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) added 4.62% or 1.38 points to end at 31.28 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was up 4.30% or 0.71 points to 17.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3), which fell 1.95% or 0.24 points to trade at 12.06 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) declined 1.57% or 1.38 points to end at 86.30 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was down 0.67% or 0.06 points to 8.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 251 to 172 and 26 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.36% to 30.17 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.10% or 1.30 to $1245.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.31% or 0.76 to hit $57.23 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.11% or 1.34 to trade at $118.88 .
USD/BRL was up 0.04% to 3.3063, while EUR/BRL fell 0.19% to 3.8820.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.06.
