Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumption, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 1.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which rose 7.23% or 0.72 points to trade at 10.68 at the close. Meanwhile, JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) added 4.70% or 0.39 points to end at 8.69 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) was up 4.69% or 0.43 points to 9.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which fell 2.13% or 0.61 points to trade at 27.97 at the close. BRF SA (SA:BRFS3) declined 1.17% or 0.24 points to end at 20.20 and Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3) was down 0.86% or 0.10 points to 11.53.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 256 to 161 and 23 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 11.38% to 34.17.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.50% or 18.30 to $1200.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.44% or 0.30 to hit $67.33 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.01% or 1.08 to trade at $105.92 .
USD/BRL was up 0.49% to 3.8844, while EUR/BRL rose 0.44% to 4.4305.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 96.16.
