Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumption and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which rose 5.10% or 1.51 points to trade at 31.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) added 5.03% or 0.37 points to end at 7.72 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) was up 4.52% or 3.65 points to 84.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which fell 1.53% or 0.12 points to trade at 7.73 at the close. BB Seguridade Participacoes SA (SA:BBSE3) declined 1.26% or 0.35 points to end at 27.45 and Engie Brasil Energia SA (SA:EGIE3) was down 0.84% or 0.31 points to 36.59.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 255 to 172 and 35 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) rose to all time highs; rising 4.52% or 3.65 to 84.40.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 1.73% to 33.57.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.26% or 16.16 to $1294.36 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.63% or 1.45 to hit $56.59 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.29% or 2.90 to trade at $123.75 .
USD/BRL was down 0.52% to 3.2570, while EUR/BRL fell 0.22% to 3.8447.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 93.52.
